Work Wear

Pants : Old Navy  l   Shirt : Similar here  l  Shoes : Similar here  l  Earrings : Stella & Dot

Recently I switched to a clinic setting at work which brought a slight change in my wardrobe.  I went from wearing scrubs to dressing business casual and at first, I was lost!  Now, don’t get me wrong – I dream of amazing office work wear.  Specifically, if I could dress like Rachel Zane everyday I would be in heaven! I mean, that girl has a killer wardrobe.  My clinic setting, however, still has me doing mammograms all day and those are not an easy task in a high waisted pencil skirt.

I could still wear scrubs on the daily, but I was really excited about the option of wearing “real clothes” to work!  So I did what any girl would do when a style situation comes up and I went straight to Pinterest!  Luckily it didn’t take me to long to narrow down that style I wanted and needed my work wear.

My purpose of creating this blog was to bring that same amazing style you see bloggers all over talking about to you gorgeous friends in an accessible way.  I LOVE the idea of stunning dress pants and crops from JCrew, Loft or Nordstrom, but here on the Canadian east coast, we don’t have access to those stores without paying an arm load of shipping and duty fees.  So I went on the hunt for great work wear pieces that are accessible BOTH online and locally and am here to share with you my go-to pair!

These Pixie pants are my absolute favourite! They fit so well, come in a ton of colours, prints and lengths, and are ALWAYS on sale!  I have them in black, navy, beige, forest green, burgundy and pink (I told you I love them!)

They are a great material to dress up or down – meaning you have so much versatility in them!  The tailored look makes them perfect for work, but pair them with a basic tee and cute slides to make an everyday casual outfit.

I keep my work outfits very casual because, like I said, I am still doing mammograms all day long and need to work around patients.  Bending, reaching, and up and down from a desk all day, my outfits must be no-fuss.  These pants make getting dressed in the mornings so easy!  I love the ankle length the best for my daily work wear, and throw in a fun chino length in the summer.  A total must-have in every wardrobe!

Girl those pants are fabulous on you and I love how you dress- totally wearable but chic at the same time! Very inspiring. And, I’d have ditched the scrubs too! Though I bet some days they’re just easy!

That’s a perfect dressy work outfit! I love a striped blouse together with denim. It’s so chic but casual too. And I love how the flats and bag match. 😉
