Wishlists may seem silly. They may be full of unrealistic wants and items you just drool over. But, they can also be so helpful! I love keeping a wishlist on hand because it actually curbs my spending and helps me shop smart for pieces I really love.
Think of it as an ongoing list of pieces you would love in your closet. When you are ready to shop take a peek at the list to help keep you and your wardrobe on track. It is one of my biggest tips on how to keep your wardrobe on budget.
Today I am sharing my winter wishlist with you! Some items are basics, some items are splurges. Together, they round out my wardrobe and give me a sense of direction with my style.
1.Spanx Moto Leggings
I have the regular matte faux leather leggings from Spanx and I cannot stop wearing them! They really are the most comfortable leggings, plus they make me feel more pulled together than regular cotton ones. I love the moto detail on this pair and can’t wait to add them to my closet for a fun date night look!
2. Oversized Sweaters
Grey is one of my fav colours all year round. It is soft, neutral and cozy. These oversized sweaters are on my wishlist! Wearing them with leggings and boots in the winter and then transitioning to cute slip on shoes for the spring is how I plan on using them.
3. High Waist Denim
I am a big fan of high waist denim! I have 2 pairs from AE and they are my fav! They are distressed, so a classic pair of non-distressed denim is on my wishlist. I love the fit of AE, but would love these cute button fly pair as well. And because spring will be here soon, I added this pair of Levis high waist distressed denim in a light wash to go perfectly in the season transition.
4. UGGs
Okay so I may be reliving my university days, but I really want a pair of UGG boots. No, I won’t wear them like an everyday winter boot. I won’t wear them in the rain. And I won’t let them get riddled with salt stains and keep wearing them without a care in the world. Those days are over. BUT, a pair of UGGs for those early morning coffee runs, quick outtings to the grocery store or anytime that I just want to be comfortable is exactly what I dream of. Think of them as altheisure boots!
5. THE Rouched Dress of the Year
If you are on Instagram and follow any style blogger I am sure you have seen this dress at least once. It is universally flattering and comes in so many colours. The only reason I have yet to buy this dress is because I don’t have a Nordstrom in my area, but it is on my list when I visit Toronto next!
6. A New Key Ring
Okay, so I already have the cutest key ring and am in love with it. I actually love it so much I want another one in a fun cute colour! I currently keep my work keys on a lanyard that continuously gets lost in my bag and I end up spilling my tea as I dig for them each morning. A new key ring that would work for my work keys (and ID badge with their cute ID cases) is just what I need to keep me organised.
7. Tie Front Thermal
Another blogger fav, these cute tie front thermals are perfect for an extra layer and will transition for spring so perfectly. Knot them in front or keep them loose and open like a cardigan. I can totally picture wearing it with my moto leggings and simple sneakers for a casual vibe.
8. White Slip On Shoes
White slip on shoes are so versatile. Wear them with jeans, leather leggings, or shorts. I love the clean look as they make the best casual outfit addition. I plan on wearing these with my spanx leggings, an oversized tee and a baseball hat for my “momiform” this summer.
9. Dressy Joggers
Are you in love with the jogger trend as much as I am? It is bascially an acceptable way to wear sweatpants to work and I am totally on board with that! I have a couple pairs on joggers right now but I am lacking a simple black pair. I love these ones that give a bit of a a dressier look to them with the flat front and side-slit pockets.
That is it! I know these items seem so similar to my current wardrobe, but that is what I want. I love the idea of a pleated midi skirt or a great designer bag, but I just know that they won’t get the use they deserve. In the era of Marie Kondo I try my best to add pieces to my wardrobe that, instead of collecting dust in the back with the tags still attached, will be worn over and over again.
I make wish lists! I like them for the sole purpose of it keeps me on a goal. I have heard so many things about the Spanx leggings, I need to give it a try. I did try on the ruched dress from Nordies but somehow did not like how it looked on me. And let’s not get started on UGGS…I so want a pair. I am just looking for a reason to need one though since its never that cold in my area. I hope your week is going great so far and happy Wednesday!

I’ve always been against uggs but recently I’ve been thinking of investing in some for the same reason, they’re good errand shoes!
