I am no makeup guru by any means and I am not about to give anyone lessons on how to rock your contouring (…can anyone give ME lessons?), but I have nailed down some of my go-to makeup products that I couldn’t go without!
Want to know what is in my makeup bag? Check it out!
Concealer : I never thought concealer was necessary until I started using it! It is the perfect way to balance out your skin and to create an even palate to start with. I dab it under my eyes and around my chin where I get the most breakouts and dab it in with my damp beauty blender. I am currently loving my Younique concealer (shade taffeta), although the MAC is amazing too.
Beauty Blender : Let’s circle back to the blender for a second. I had been using this little sponge wrong for SO long and had thrown it to the back of my makeup drawer. Run your beauty blender under the tap and get it wet. Then squeeze it out. NOW it is ready for use. It is amazing how much that small step can change how the blender works. I can use half the concealer as the damp sponge helps spread it more evenly across my face. **TIP** I like to find a blender with a flat edge. I feel like it gets into the corners under my eyes better! Grab one from walmart, target, or your local drug store for $5 instead of $20 at Sephora!
Powder : Anyone with oily skin? (I am raising both hands!) A light powder just helps set your concealer. I go between a loose and a pressed powder but, either way, I apply it with a brush instead of a sponge. It helps keep the powder light on my face. In the summertime I love the Rimmel Matte pressed powder just to keep the oily face at bay. During the winter, or on date nigh when I am going glam, I grab for my Younique loose powder.
Bronzer : Remember how I said I won’t teach you how to contour? That is because my contouring is super simple and not actually contouring at all – I use my bronzer pressed powder. I brush it onto the hollows of my cheeks and up into my temples. I also brush a little on the sides of my nose and around the edge of my face. If you follow along my InstaStories you know I love my chocolate so its no surprise that you can find the Chocolate Too Faced bronzer in my makeup bag. It seriously smells like chocolate as you put it on!
Blush : I use my blush almost as a highlight to my bronzer. A little swoop up my cheek bones and on the tip of my nose to bring some colour to my face. My go-to is NARS and I switch between the colours Orgasm and Dolce Vita depending on my mood or outfit.
Eyebrows : Again, a product I never thought was necessary until I started using it, I am in love with my eyebrow gel. I use a small angled brush from MAC and the Anastasia Dipbrow pomade to lightly fill in my brows. I don’t outline them – I just simple fill in the gaps and help shape them.
Mascara : Second to concealer, this is my must have product. If I had to, I could go without all the others if i just had some mascara. It makes me feel put together and awake. I cannot say enough about Too Faced Better Than Sex. I think I have converted several people already to using it. The brush is the typical fibre brush but somehow it makes your lashes look long AND full. Plus the formula is one that doesn’t dry and flake. You can apply it in layers without worrying about your lashes sticking together.
Lipstick/gloss : Go check out this post to see my go to lip colours and how to find your perfect shade. I keep it simple some days with my pot of blistex, but lipstick is something that so easily finishes the look.
This list seems long as I write it all out, but it is my everyday basics that you can find in my makeup bag. An easy 5 minute face with no fuss. Eyeshadow and liner is saved for those fun nights out (and I’m loving all the neutrals in this new palette here!)
What are YOUR makeup must haves? And who wants to teach me contouring or the perfect winged eyeliner 😉

I love a fun printed bag! I love keeping my essentials down to the basics and then when I get to glam up on date night it feels more special!

I always adore these type of posts and find it so fun to see what others have in their makeup bags (or beauty cabinets)! I couldn’t agree with you more about the beauty blender…total game changer! And I can’t live without my RMS concealers (and really any bronzing product, TBH, haha).
