Summer Outfit Try On

I spent the weekend visiting my family in Moncton, taking in the sunshine, eating all the ribs I could eat at RibFest...AND of course doing a little shopping. It is a treat to go home for the weekend because it means I get to leave my daughter with my mom and head out for a few hours on my own. Mamas, you get me! I can be SO efficient in that small amount of time when I don’t have to dish out snacks, buckle car seats, fix Barbie’s outfit and push a cart around a store. So of course I wandered into Old Navy and stumbled across some really cute pieces that would make the perfect summer outfit and I just had to share.

Summer tees are an easy grab and go outfit. Your trusted jeans or denim shorts and a great summer tee can get you through any busy day. How cute is this striped henley? Plus the bright yellow is just perfect for any sunny day. It has a great scoop neck and fits true to size.

Linen Everything

Does anyone else have a thing for linen in the summer time? It is just so lightweight and easy to wear. I have these shorts in the pant version and believe me when I tell you they are so darn comfy you will think you are wearing pjs. They come in a few solid colours as well! This scoop neck tank is made to pair with it. Loose and comfy for the sunny days running errands or walking the beach.

Stripes All Day

Summer dresses make life so easy. My checklist? Loose, light weight, and versatile. This dress ticks all the boxes. It is lightweight like a linen but almost feels like a chambray. It buttons all the way up (which makes it perfect to wear open as a beach cover up) and even comes with a slip. Ways I plan to wear it? Just as it is with cute sandals, belted with white sneakers, open as a beach coverup & open as a short sleeve kimono!

Patterned Shorts

I am loving all the cute shorts this summer. Paperbag waist, wide leg, and loose linen. The print on these shorts make them such a cute summer outfit and they are so comfy! Pair them with a tank in the hot afternoons, a cami and heels for dinner dates, or a long sleeve summer sweater like this one for those cooler evenings. Did I mention they are half price right now?

Gingham Picnic

Get ready for it, because the next two pieces I found are the cutest gingham pattern! Doesn’t it just make you want to set up a picnic? I am loving this summer button up. It is lightweight but not sheer and has the perfect ends to tie it up. Wear it casually with white jeans or denim shorts or tuck it into black trousers for a cute office look.

Don’t forget patterned pants! I found these cute pixie ankle length pants that will be perfect for your work wardrobe. I have been trying to integrate my work wardrobe with my weekend wardrobe and these pants are perfect for that! Wear them to the office with a classic white blouse or summer sweater (that a/c can be so cold!) then dress them down for everyday wear with an easy boyfriend tee (see my Instastories for how I styled it).

Boyfriend Tee

Speaking of boyfriend tees, this one is so dang cute! The perfect oversized fit and pocket for detail (plus its only $10 right now!) you better believe I’ll be wearing this on repeat all summer long. Pair it with regular denim like I did, your pixie pants (like above), white jeans or a cut off shorts. Even better? Layer it over a maxi dress and knot it at your waist!
