A Basic Tee Matches Everything!
If you know me, you know that I love a good basic tee. I mean, you can just wear it with anything and everything. Dress it up or dress it down. Knot it, tuck it, or even pull it off one shoulder. So OF COURSE my 5×5 had to have one. Here is my Day 4 look of the Summer 5×5 style challenge.
This tee is a splurge item. Like I mentioned in my post ALL about basic tees (missed it? Here you go!), when you curate a closet of quality pieces you LOVE, you can spend more on them. So… I introduce my favourite Velvet Tee. It is just SO soft, fits like a dream, and even washes well! This is a tee you will have in your closet for years.
We don’t have a Velvet Tee store here in Halifax, but if you are local you can find them at Poppy & Olive or at Wildflower. Have a Nordstrom or Anthropologie near you? 1- I am jealous, 2 – you can find them there too!
I paired my tee with these comfy DEX joggers from Day 1 for a great monochromatic look. I love neutrals and, even those these pants are printed, they totally work as a neutral base.
I wanted to keep a casual look with this outfit, so I paired it with my favourite flip flops and kept my jewels simple.
It is obvious I am a jewel lover, so here is my tip for clean simple accessories. I like to make sure my jewels and outfit have balance. So a statement earring is often paired with no necklace, or something very delicate. I love these mixed metal statement earrings paired with my arrow necklace. But then to give the outfit some spunk, I added my favourite arm party. (Not sure what an arm party it? Stay tuned – that post is coming soon!).
These stretch bracelets are just so cute and easy to wear. They are actually oil diffusing bracelets made of beads and lava stones. The cutest Canadian mom, Leah, makes these in her shop The Oily Choice.
