It has almost been a year since we moved into our new home and I am finally feeling settled. Even though we built our home and picked out the finishings, it still takes a while to decorate and get your home set up exactly how you want. This has been the fun stage! Slowly adding small details here and there to really make it feel warm, lived in and homey. The kitchen has been a big focus since it truly is the heart of our home. It is where we spend the most time and where people gather when we have company.

I knew when we built that I wanted some unique design features to really make the space pop. I had my eye on the Adorne fixtures by Legrand for our kitchen outlet and light plates but couldn’t decide which plates to choose. What I love about these fixtures is that we didn’t have to rush and decide because they are so easy to switch out! Even once you have the outlets and plates installed, the plates pop off for an easy switch to a different colour or finish if you change your style. Brilliant!

I am lucky that my husband is handy and knows a bit of electrical. We were able to switch the outlets and fixtures on our own. If you don’t feel comfortable make sure you contact an electrician to help you.

I chose the brushed brass plates to match the handle pulls on my kitchen cabinets. It is amazing how much a difference they make it my kitchen. The outlets are so sleek, clean and modern looking. They instantly add style to the simple backsplash!

I love these switches and plates so much! I am already thinking of all the other places I can put them. The powder room and master bath are next on my list. Who would have thought that a light switch would be the easiest way to add a little style to your room?
