If you are anything like me, you don’t wash your hair everyday. But sometimes that spritz of dry shampoo is just not enough to cover up the mess. I am sharing my fav ways to style second day hair to keep you looking cute, polished and stylish! Don’t worry, they are super simple because ain’t nobody got time to spend 45 mins on their hair (at least I don’t!).
Make that second day hair look fab with these easy steps!
I find second day hair easier to work with when it has been curled. L’ange sent me these amazing curling wands and I am so impressed that my curls are lasting until day 2. It is more than enough to give me some extra body to work with. If the roots are looking a bit greasy, just spritz on some dry shampoo and work it into your hair.
The Side Pony
The easiest style that I gravitate towards is a quick side pony. This is a great option for second day hair that hasn’t gotten too tangled. You can freshen up the curls with your curling wand if needed. I really am loving how quick my L’ange wand heats up and makes touching up the curls super quick and easy. Otherwise, simply pull all your hair to one side. Separate your hair into three section. Take the back section and cross it over the middle, almost like you are starting a braid. Use bobby pins to pin it in place.
Now take the front section and pull it towards the back and pin it in place. You can pull out some pieces along the front to frame your face or adjust the back to give your hair a looser look. Use your bobby pins to secure any fly-away pieces.
The Flip and Tuck
When my ends are looking a bit scraggly on day 2 (or 3…or 4…) I like to hide them away. This is a great alternative to a top knot (which you can find my tutorial here!) and gives you a polished look. If you have some fly aways you can always run your flat iron through the crown to tame them down.
Separate a section at the front of your hair on each side. You can tie them or clip them out of the way is its easier.
Gather the rest of your hair into a low ponytail and secure it with a hair tie. Separate the gathered hair in two and flip your ponytail through the centre.
Take your front sections and gently twist them, tucking the ends into the looped pony tail and securing each side with a bobby pin.
Take the end of the pony tail and start wrapping it around two or three fingers to create a roll and pin it into place. You can pull the bottom of the elastic to tighten the bun, hide the elastic and give your “bun” a little more space.
Easy Peasy! Don’t let second day hair get you down. And if you try these out tag me on Instagram so I can see all your fab styles!

L’ange sent me these gorgeous hair styling tools to try out. As always, I give my honest opinion when reviewing products and try to seek out the best for you! I really love their curling wands because they heat up SO fast, the curls last SO long and their products seem to hold up very well. I highly suggest the Lustre over the Ondule wand simply because the Lustre has a temperature setting that you can control for more or less heat.
Oh these styles are adorable! They look so effortless chic and cool, I loved them. I’m definitely trying the first one. Your hair is gorgeous, by the way!
