Fall Wardrobe Refresh

The leaves on the trees in my backyard are starting to turn red, so I think it is safe to say that Fall is on its way and isn’t taking its time to arrive.  I always like to refresh my wardrobe for the season as I pull out those cozy sweaters and pack away the shorts and sundresses.  Of course, I wish I had an infinite budget to go out and buy all my must-have Fall items, but I am slowly on my way to curating a great capsule wardrobe that will make season change so easy.

 

Here is my shopping list for this fall!

A blazer is one of my favourite ways to add to an outfit.  It is a great layering piece for those cold days and really lets you extend your summer wardrobe.  All those cute camis your just not ready to give up?  Throw on a cozy knit blazer and wear them into the winter!

Mules are SO on trend right now and I can’t stop from wanting all of them!  When sandal season ends I always have a hard time covering up my feet with thick socks.  Especially during season change over, when the mornings are cool but the afternoons are warm, the last thing I want is to wear big boots.  Since my capsule wardrobe is made up of lots of neutral, plain pieces, I love a printed show for a pop of colour and fun.

I just can’t get enough of this top! Cozy knits are my jam, especially ones that are long enough to wear with leggings! Tuck this into your favourite denim, wear it over leggings & boots, or throw a blazer on top to give it a polished look.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know my love for olive!  It just oozes fall to me.  I will actually even say that olive is the new neutral! I think it is important to have a great fall jacket and this one is totally it.  Enough pockets to give it that military look, but enough detailing to keep it feminine.

Fall means back to school, back to work, and back to everyday errands.  I love to start the season fresh with a tote and I try to keep it clean & simple so that it will carry me through the season.  I had my eye on a cute reversible tote from Nordstrom, but was SO exited to see this one at Old Navy for half the price!

I know, it is fall and I live in Canada…so what am I doing picking out a short dress?! Well, this one is just so cute and I really think that it can be SO versatile.  The weather hasn’t gotten too cold yet, so you can rock this dress with some great mules or booties and  a cardigan.  Fast forward to November, throw on your favourite knit tights and tall boots!  Or even give it a tuck into your jeans for an oversized tee look!  This beauty comes in SO many colours and I seriously want them all.  You HAVE to check out the yellow!

Booties instantly change your outfit from summer to fall.  Wear them with jeans, joggers, a dress or tights…the outfits are endless!  I am lacking black shoes in my wardrobe so I picked these, but they also come in a nude.

 

 

 

 

 

You didn’t think I would forget some sparkle did you?  Accessories are such an easy way to refresh that wardrobe!  These statement earrings are just stunning.  The black gives them a bit of edge while the vintage cold gives them a warm and soft feel.  And don’t forget a great cuff – it is one piece that will add some major style to any outfit.
