Fall means suede shoes

So you have scrolled through your instagram and have fallen in LOVE with everyones fall shoes.  Ya, Me too!

I mean, gorgeous suede mules have me melting.  They just complete an outfit and give off that fall vibe that I have been looking for.  My problem?  I can’t justify to my husband spending over $100 on one pair…because, let’s be honest, I really want 4! …and that is 3 weeks of daycare worth of shoes!

So I went on a hunt for the best fall flats (because booties are a WHOLE other post!) for the BEST price.

After a few strolls through the mall and some bigger box stores, I stumbled into Marshall’s and hit the jackpot.  Why do I not go there more often?  I seriously walked in with a specific shoe in mind and walked out with 3 shoe boxes and bill under $150!

There are certain shoes that I don’t mind spending a lot on – Winter boots being one of them.  Let’s face it girls, at least here in Canada we need those toes to stay dry and warm.  And they are worn for a quite a few months!  But flats and fall slides?  With our rain, we really don’t get much time to wear them.  They are perfect for those sunny days with crunchy leaves, but then get tucked away for 5 months of snow and slush.

That doesn’t mean I don’t covet the buttery soft shoes I keep seeing over and over on my Instagram feed.  It just means that, if I want them, I need to find them in a way that doesn’t break the bank.

Let’s start with the basic flats, because I think these are just timeless and classic.  Every girl needs a pair of nude flats.  I actually laughed with my husband the other night when I told them that I felt more grown-up wearing these! They just complete any outfit – be it office attire or a simple jeans & tee combo.

Pointy toed flats make any outfit look classy.

The perforated toe adds the perfect amount of detail without being too trendy.  If you haven’t noticed, I am a classic kinda girl.  I love a great trendy tee now and then, but I am drawn to pieces that are versatile and that are timeless.  And of under $60, these are a steal of a deal!  Even the cashier said that she had to go grab a pair on her break!

I have been missing black shoes in my wardrobe.  The only black I have are my Michael Kors flip flops and it is time to turn those in for the season.  What drew me to these?  The tassels!  They just add that classic loafer feel with the trendy twist of a mule.

These were the shoes I had in mind when I was on my hunt!  I saw a similar pair from Aerosols and from Nordstrom for over $100 and just wished I could find a great budget version.  These were only $29.99!!

Now I know I say that I am classic and timeless when it comes to style, but I do love a pop of colour or a fun trend every now and then – Especially if I can get it at a steal of a deal.  These shoes did it for me.  I have been eyeing the embroidery trend lately and love the feminine touch it gives.  And I am just all over the mauve and burgundy colours of fall.

I mean, can you really walk away from these beauties?  I can just picture these with jeans & a tee, or an all black office outfit.  I don’t own anything like them, so I just HAD to have them.  And for $29.99 I wasn’t breaking the bank at all!

You don’t always have to spend a fortune to get the latest styles and trends.  Sometimes you just need to look around a bit!  It payed off BIG time for me to not jump the gun when I wanted these shoes 2 months ago.  And I know we still have TONS of fall weather left to wear these!

I got to style these shoes last week during my Fall 5×5 Style Challege! Check out how I wore them and let me know which are your favs!

Thanks Natalie! I can’t get enough of them. It is getting cool here but I am not ready to pack them up for the season just yet.
