5×5 Style Challenge – The Tuck

Happy Wednesday! We have made it halfway through the week, which means we are halfway through our 5×5 style challenge of the month.  You are going to start to see pieces on repeat, but that is the whole point.  Versatility is key in having a great wardrobe that can last you through the seasons.

So for Day 3 I have brought back the dress from Day 1, but it’s all about the tuck!  I love a great tshirt dress because it really can be worn so many ways.  I am a big fan of the front tuck.  If you follow me on Instagram you’ll see many of my daily outfits are longer shirts/sweaters with mid-rise jeans and a simple front tuck to pull it all together (I told you I am pretty classic and basic with my wardrobe!)  But when you are blankly staring at your closet wondering if you will ever find something nice to wear (I know I can’t be the only one!) don’t forget about those tshirt dresses, even in the cool weather.

This is an older dress from JoeFesh and I just love the slightly longer sleeves.  It is a simple straight cut, which I find makes the front tuck easier.  You can totally do this with a cute shift dress as well, you will just have a bit of a flare out the back.

I grabbed for my fav new booties from DSW (they are Naturalizers and SO comfy) and my must-have blanket scarf to keep me cozy with all this crazy wind we have had.

You can never beat a good striped t-shirt. Perfect with either your cardigan or scarf.

Brooke, it is so true! The perfect way to make an oversized tee or slouchy sweater look pulled together! Throw a pair of heels on and you are ready for date night!

Aw thank you Ruth! You are seriously the sweetest! I rarely wear dresses except on vacation and to weddings, so it has been fun styling it and getting out of my jeans&tee rut.

I’m all about a little half-tuck to make things a bit more relaxed- you’ve mastered this move!

Love the front tuck. I used to be hesitant to truck in my shirts but it’s actually really trendy.

I was the same way! I thought it was so 90’s, but I am loving it now. It it plays so well with the slouchy trends that are in!
