Can you believe that, although the trend is not new by any means, I have yet to wear a ruffled sleeve top? I have been adoring them on all my style bloggers feeds but just wasn’t 100% sold on how I would feel wearing one. I mean, I am busy and can’t be dealing with sleeves falling into my breakfast first thing in the morning (because I am that girl who can’t seem to leave the house without some kind of mess on me).
Well, I was so excited when Lace & Charm hand picked this top for me because 1) the colour is totally my jam! I am in love with all things burgundy this fall, 2) it is butter soft…I mean, I could sleep in it it’s so cozy, and 3) I finally got to try out the bell/ruffle sleeve trend and let me tell you – I LOVE IT!
(P.S L&C is an amazing Canadian online boutique run by the sweetest ladies! Hello online shopping with no surprise duty fees!!)
When I was choosing my 5×5 pieces, I just knew that this to had to make it in. Versatility is key to the 5×5 challenge, but I think its also about showcasing great pieces in your wardrobe.
I am a classic kinda girl when it comes to my wardrobe. I tend to stick with neutrals and grab for fits that won’t quickly go out of style. That being said, I think that you should have fun with your outfits and have a few trendy pieces that you can rock each season. I love how this is the perfect statement piece for me. It is a colour pallet that I love and that blends with the rest of my wardrobe (this is where the versatility comes in since I can match it with what I already own) but the sleeves are the fun statement.
I paired this top with my comfy black booties that I found from DSW and of course my cozy blanket scarf (you can find one similar here).
Come back tomorrow for Day 3 of the 5×5 style challenge, or follow along on Instagram!

You are definitely pulling off the tasseled sleeves! I’ve been wanting to try them but just haven’t found the right shirt yet. I agree though, finding something that will stay in fashion for a while is a must – I think this style will be around for a while!

I think the length of the sleeve plays into it – I didn’t want anything I would be trying to roll up out of the way. I think the 3/4 length is the perfect way to rock it!

This outfit has all of my favourite elements – burgundy, ruffles and denim! And black ankle boots! The necklace makes a great statement against the burgundy too. I love the 5×5 challenge, it’s always great seeing the outfits all you guys come up with xx

Aw thanks Eileen! I think it is fun to show how you can wear some great trends in a very everyday look. This is probably one of my fav necklaces because I can dress it up, but it just adds so much to a great basic outfit as well!
