If you’ve been around here for a while you have most likely seen and followed along a 5×5 style challenge. As the season changes (or as we hope for it to change) so does our wardrobe. I love doing these challenges to help refresh my outfits and get my seasonal creativity flowing. If you missed me on Instagram, last week was my lastest 5×5 style challenge and I am here to recap the week and the outfits I created! if you want even more inspo, check out these previous 5×5’s!
As much as I am longing for spring, it is still cold. Layers are a must and cute flats are only appropriate when running from the car to the store. I wanted this style challenge to reflect the current season so I did my best to mix some fun spring pieces with practical cozy pieces. Between the great weather last week and the versatility of the pieces, this style challenge was a success!
I am a denim girl through and through and can’t get enough of these Levi’s 701’s. It was a no brainer that they had to be a part of my 5 pieces. Being a mom on the go, leggings are also part of my everyday wardrobe. I know that a style challenge is supposed to stretch your wardrobe creativity, but I also believe that they are supposed to be practical – and jeans & leggings are my kind of practical! Those two pieces were the base for my mini capsule.
From comfy athleisure to the perfect date night look, these 5 pieces took me through the whole week feeling fabulous! Check out how they transform with the switch of a few accessories.
Jeans: Levis l Jacket : Old Navy l Tee : c/o C’est Moi Clothing l
Shoes : Target l Necklace : Stella & Dot
This look for day 1 was perfect! I am a true jeans & tee girl and I loved how this knotted tee was a step up from the basics. It was a day of flurries so layers kept me cozy, although my heart (set on spring) was not willing to give up my mules.
Sweater : c/o Duke&Beau Clothing l Tank : Old Navy l Shoes : TOMS l
Leggings : Lululemon l Necklace : Stella & Dot
Day 2 kept me going in my athleisure and extra strong latte! Daylight savings kicked my butt and I just couldn’t kick the sleepy fog (in comes the leggings and cozy knit!) This sweater was the versatility of my 5×5 collection. The twist is usually the back of the sweater, but I just love the cardigan look when you wear it backwards!
Dress : c/o C’est Moi Clothing l Cardi : Similar Here l
Necklace : Stella & Dot l Boots : DSW
Ok so Day 3 had me longing for spring. This bamboo t-shirt dress is the softest thing EVER, plus is from a super cute Canadian Boutique called C’est Moi Clothing. They have a whole line of bamboo cotton pieces (like my knotted lavender tee from day 1). Or course Mother Nature did not received the message that I am ready for spring and sent more flurries, so OTK boots were in order. A quick knot in the dress gave it some shape under my long cardi. My best accessory may be all that caffeine in my hand!
Shoes : Converse l Leggings : Lulumemon l
Tee : c/o C’est Moi Clothing l Wallet : Stella & Dot l
Bralette : BohoChicBoutique
My go-to athleisure look, I could wear this outfit everyday! I don’t even have much to say about it. Cute, comfy, perfect! A bralette can add that bit of feminine detail to a basic tee.
Jeans : Levis l Shoes : TOMS l Sweater : c/o Duke&Beau Clothing
Bag : Old Navy l Necklace : Stella & Dot
Who else celebrated making it to Friday? This date night look is the perfect end to the style challenge. Remember that sweater from day 2? This is how it is originally worn. This bralette worked perfectly for the low vneck and the backless part of the sweater.
A capsule can really stretch your wardrobe by allowing you to mix, match, and get creative with the pieces you own! In a wardrobe rut? Try it out and let me know how it goes!
All of these layers are so cozy and cute! And can we talk about that lavender tee? What a fabulous spring find! So pretty!!
